Vietnam Veteran Enjoys The People-First Culture At MITER Brands

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Former Army infantryman, Vietnam veteran Kevin Miller, draws a parallel between those he served with and the people-first culture he experiences every day at MI Windows and Doors, a MITER BrandsTM company.

Drafted in 1969, Miller spent two years in Vietnam as a lead scout. He was promoted to the rank of corporal for his bravery in the field.

“It was an honor to serve my country,” Miller said, “and I’m proud to have served alongside with the men in my unit.”

When he first returned home, he found work as a machinist. It was in 2012 when he became a maintenance technician at the MI Windows and Doors vinyl profiles facility. For over ten years Miller has enjoyed working for MI because of their strong support of veterans, and that they treat all team members like family.

“MI Windows and Doors has been very good to me,” he says. “They really respect the service of military veterans and I feel valued here.”

Plant Manager Dave Koppenhaver has known Miller since he joined the company.

“He works hard and he’s a great resource here at the plant,” Koppenhaver says. “Not only is Kevin a great mentor to his fellow team members, but they really respect his service to our country during the Vietnam War.”
